Trafalgar Brewing - The Black Bullet

A dark coca-cola coloured beer with virtually no head.
Aroma is mostly alcohol with a bit of sour swamp smell.
Feel is quite rich and creamy, it's looking up a bit.
Taste is much better than the aroma. There is the definite presence of alcohol but a lot of raisin and prune tastes come through as well. There is a strong sweet sugar aspect to the taste and in many ways it reminds me of a very sweet port wine.
I don't think I want too many of these, there is not enough definition to the taste and it is far too sweet for me, I am glad I tried it though so it can't be all bad.

Stone Hammer Premium Pilsner

A moderately dark amber coloured brew with a nice thick, creamy, bright white head.
The aroma is strongly of malt. Quite sweet and sugary with just a hint of vinegar.
Feel is nicely creamy, rounded and smooth.
Tastes are, again, heavily toward the malt end of the spectrum. The hop bitterness is there but is well into the background.
Some earthy tastes mixed with the sweet honey-like malt make this seem more like a cold weather beer than one for the heat of summer. The hop flavours comes through in the earthiness along with a hint of citrus.

Not bad at all and quite a different taste for a Pilsner style. I Like it on these cold days of a February thaw but might look for something a bit lighter and with more hops for the summer months.

Beer Quote of the day

This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption... Beer!
