BEER is GOOD!

Trafalgar Brewing - Paddy's Irish Red
There is a previous review here which I did about a year and a half ago. The beer I just bought in a can bears no resemblance to Trafalgar's bottled beer of the same name. I think their canning line is a fairly new addition but the real point here is that their new Irish Red is more like an IPA than a Red.
I decided to do a whole new review, maybe this isn't even the right beer for this can, how would I know.
The pour is a fairly dark amber with a very full, coarse, and slightly off white head.
Aroma is mostly pine and citrus, quite fresh smelling with a hint of graininess in the background.
Feel is quite bright and sparkling, creamy and full.
Taste shows hints of the very malty brew that this used to be but now contains big doses of pine and grapefruit hop tastes which really set this off nicely.
I find it a lot more drinkable as it is now than what it was. The light hop finish makes it a lot easier to have another mouthful.
I don't know what happened but I hope they keep this version 2.0 Paddy's Irish Red.

Trafalgar Brewing - Paddy's Irish Red
Pours a clear and dark amber colour, no hint of 'red' that I can see.
Head is medium and relatively long lasting, white and leaves a thin lace.
Aroma is mostly sweet malt, some honey and earth.
Feel is quite full, rich, and creamy for an Irish ale, Much thinner than a stout but much thicker than a lager.
Taste is strongly into the malt profile, quite sweet with some earthy tastes. A honey base with some light and fairly floral hops riding on top. I think this could use a heavier hand with the hops, it's too much on the sweet side for me to drink this regularly. A more citrus flavoured hop might help.

Trafalgar Brewing - Paddy's Irish Red
Pours a dark copper color. No head to speak of but a fairly strong lace.
Nice rich mouth feel. A little on the watery side, but still pleasant.
I find the hops to be on top but not over the top on this one. The hops are not over the top on this with the malt keeping them in the back ground. Well balanced to my way of thinking.
Another good one from a great Canadian Craft Brewery!

Trafalgar Brewing - Paddy's Irish Red
A medium sized head. Bubbles seem pretty big and it isn't lasting too long.
The colour is more of a dark amber than a red.
I can smell a bit of honey and some pine.
The taste is quite sweet with corn syrup tastes, it tastes malty like the brewery smells.
There is a bit of a pine taste and a dryness on my tongue a few seconds after I swallow it.
It's really quite nice, from sweet at the beginning to dry afterwards.
I like it and could probably slug back a bunch of these.
