On our recent sojurn to the Ottawa, Quebec area Nemsis and I, Devoid, stopped at the Wellington just for the purpose of sampling the Hogs Back Lager which is not available anywhere but the Ottawa area.
The pub is in an upscale business district of Ottawa and the pub is upscale as well.
We were fortunate enough to meet with Chris the chef who gave us a run down of the pub's short history. He also bought us the Hogs Back. Stought fellow!
We also chatted with a waiter named David who seems to be quite knowledgeable about beer. An aside here: David told us he has a 10 year old bottle of beer stored so if you're a friend try to talk him into sharing.
About the pub: Absolutely spotless with linen on all tables as well as cloth napkins. Glasses spotless and all flat ware was polished.
If you're looking for a main stream beer on tap forget it. They change regularly and all are craft or imports.
We didn't have anything to eat as we had just had a rather large lunch, but a meal there is on my to do list and I am reserving my fifth star for that occasion. I think it will be earned!
