BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Wellington Imperial Russian Stout
Wellington Imperial Russian Stout
Pours a very dark (almost black) red/brown with a thick tan coloured head.
Aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee beans.
Feel is very thick, rich, and creamy.
Taste starts with a coffee and roasted grain hit that is mellowed by a decent citrus hop finish. Some smokiness comes through along with a lot of grain and dark berry tastes. I was a bit surprised at the hint of smoke in there but it grew on me very quickly since it is so subdued. I really liked the level of citrus hop in the finish, it was enough to give a clean finish but didn't dominate.
I haven't seen this at the normal Ontario outlets, I had to pick it up at the brewery but it was worth the trip.

Wellington Imperial Russian Stout
Pours a very deep reddish brown with a thick tan head.
The aroma is chocolate and coffee with just a hint of alcohol.
Thick and creamy in the mouth feel.
Flavors are of chocolate andd coffee with some alcohol at the end but it doesn't offend at all. There is a smokiness and a touch of fruit in the finish. Quite complex and a very, very good example of an Imperial stout.
