Westmalle Dubbel

Pours dark as night with a long lasting tan colored thick and clumpy head.
Aroma is berries and citrus and some coffee and caramel from the roasted malts.
Very creamy mouth feel.
Starts out with a sour cherry flavor followed by a sweetness from the malt and finishes with a hoppy dryness that makes mw want more. The alcohol is present but definitely doesn't over power.
Quite good.

Westmalle Dubbel

A thick, creamy, light tan coloured head on a very dark black beer with some highlights of red. You can't see through it even against a bright light.

The aroma is of berries with a hint of citrus and some earthiness. There is a scent like cream or milk somehow.
The feel is very rich and creamy, well rounded and full.
It starts with rich berry tastes and a touch of bitter chocolate, quickly followed by a light and bright citrus bitterness. There is a lingering cream sort of taste on part of the tongue while the citrus tingle fills the rest of the mouth.
Overall the citrus berry taste predominates with the hint of bitter chocolate alway present.

I have waited quite a while to get this one and it was worth it.

Highly recommended.

Beer Quote of the day

Pure water is the best gifts a man can bring. But who am I that I should have the best of anything? Let princes revel at the pump, let peers with ponds make free, beer is good enough for me.

— Lord Neaves
