Westmalle Tripel Trappist Ale
Westmalle Tripel Trappist Ale
A bloody HUGE head! This one got away from me, nasty mess.
By the way, it's white.
The beer is a cloudy amber/orange colour.
Smell is full of spices, ginger seems to be the one that stands out the most, some orange peel, vanilla and alcohol also in there.
This tastes great! The ginger and alcohol are there but so is a lot of other flavours. Vanilla, banana, cloves, and even a bit of coffee.
I'm going to be watching for this one from now on. It's going on my favourite list.

Westmalle Tripel Trappist Ale
This beer is Excellent!!! One of my favourites.
A huge bright white head on a beautiful golden coloured beer.
A light cloudiness with some great streams of bubble up the sides of the chalice,
The aroma is sweet, spicy and a touch earthy and the feel is so rich and full it amazed me.
The tastes are SO complex. Some ginger sits right on top with hints of chocolate, berries and honey. A touch of earthiness and a bright but light citrus taste. The beer makes your whole mouth sparkle and fills it with flavours.
It is so rich feeling that you almost have to concentrate to get to the flavours at all, I am having a tough time describing them because they are so complex and well blended that it is difficult to tell them apart.
The finish is very long and lingering with a light earthiness and citrus tingle over a sweetness and honey like flavour.
I have had this one put away for a while now, waiting for a special day to try it again. A rainy, cold, and windy Christmas eve seemed like the time and I was certainly not disapointed.
This Trappist Ale has made it to my (very short) all time favourite list. If you have never had a Trappist Beer before this would be a good one to start with, then you can have a lot of fun trying to find a better one.

Westmalle Tripel Trappist Ale
Huge clumpy white head on a cloudy light orange beer.
Spice and fruit are the predominant aromas. This smells grand.
Medium mouth feel with a sparkling tingle from the carbonation.
Flavors are so complex I find it hard to describe. There is some fruit and chocolate but the alcohol is at the top in the end. If it wasn't for that this would be the perfect brew for me. Still and all this is a very good beer.
