Zywiec Tatra Beer

The first sip of this beer truly surprised me, pleasantly!
It pours a slightly dark golden colour, much like any lager but perhaps slightly darker. The head is full and white but vanishes almost instantly leaving no lace.
Aroma is almost non-existent, a hint of hard water smell but that is about it.
The first sip displays a coffee note of roasted malt. How on earth did they get that into such a pale lager? There is a noticeable herbal hop presence and a full feel, a bit of fresh hay and honey round out the taste.
For a pale clear lager this had a lot more taste than I'd expected and I am still trying to figure out where that roasted malt taste comes from.
Guess I'll have to 'sample' a few more of these.

It seems like it's bittered

It seems like it's bittered with saazsque polish hops (lubelski). It is a dry beer but with a good mouth feel. It does have a good malt at the front. It seems like a good smash mix.

Amber colored with a thin white head.
Hop, citrus aroma but it's very slight. This surprised me since it's an ale, but then again it could be this old sniffer acting up again.
Nice and creamy. Good start.
Grapefruit citrus with some hay and a touch of honey sweetness with a perfect drying finish.
This I like oodles.

Beer Quote of the day

We old folks have to find our cushions and pillows in our tankards.
Strong beer is the milk of the old.

— Martin Luther

(Amen Martin, although the comparison to milk leaves a lot to be desired.)
